Downsizing, Part 3

Our efforts to downsize are continuing this weekend; most exciting of all is that we involved our oldest son in the process today, and we gave away a box of toys and books. It helps that I’ve connected with a local consignment shop that also donates to a women’s shelter in the next town, so I could be a bit more clear about where his toys and books were going.  I’ve actually set up an arrangement with the shop to sell books there which I’m really psyched about – I’ll post more about that later. Today’s focus was on getting stuff out the door – and possibly getting some money for a few of our nicer items.

Nothing really big went out today – but several were items we’ve had our eye on selling since beginning this project last month. I still haven’t completely tackled my wardrobe, but got a start on it today. On our way home from a Christmas party this evening, my husband and I reflected on how great it feels to be de-cluttering and simplifying our household. Our wood stove is install and almost ready to go – one or two more things and we’ll be set. I’ll share that process at another time – it’s late, and my ability to write coherently is fading fast. Tomorrow I will give full details on the lovely blogging award that I received from Another Jennifer – I am way too appreciative to try to do credit to this lovely honor tonight.  Zzzzz…..
