Skywatch Friday, A Wetland in Early Autumn

The blue of the sky, and the yellow of the black-eyed Susans – so incongruous in a wetland – are a perfect marriage, to my eye. This place gives me peace; there is a stillness in wetlands that you don’t always find in other natural places. The sky reflected in the water, and the slow progress of decay just under the surface. Sometimes you can smell it, other times it goes unnoticed.
