My Inked Life: An Update

So on day 6 of NaBloPoMo I face a dilemma.  Is the post I’m about to share something that I would have published on this blog if I wasn’t participating in NaBoPoMo, and trying to make sure I blog in one place every day this month? I wrote this update with my personal blog in mind, but it makes sense to cross-post it here to keep up with my daily blogging goal. But I think the answer is no, I would not have published this here otherwise.

However, I did I receive several positive comments when I previously posted about the full back tattoo that I’ve been getting done this year…. So for those who were intrigued the first time, here’s where my tattoo is currently:

Eleven months into this I’m pleased that I can look back and see the progress of my backpiece through the brief bit of journaling and photography that I’ve done. This has been an interesting adventure – one I could not have imagined back in January when I started.

Done?  Nope. Almost, though. In addition adjusting the shading, Joe and I have talked about adding root structure to the trees. I was perfectly happy just having the beginning of the roots going down my lower back, but Joe wanted to extend them down my hips. Seeing as we’re now bartering work, he pretty much gets his way (which isn’t much of an issue – we’re pretty like-minded regarding the work he’s doing). And besides, I’d rather work with someone who’s willing to give me their opinion than someone who just blindly does whatever I ask (that’s for pretty much any setting, I guess).  Not getting input from the people I’m working with makes me uncomfortable, bordering on nervous. I mean really, what the hell do I know?

    1. Thanks! I seem to be touching on potentially polarizing issues this week thanks to NaBloPoMo. It’s kinda fun to branch out a bit, though (even though they’re tangentially related). I’ll be back in safe territory with Wordless Wednesday tomorrow. 🙂

    1. Thanks Kate! It IS amazing. The weird thing though, is that I can’t see it without looking in a mirror (or at a picture) so I feel kind of detached from it. I know it’s there, but often it doesn’t feel like it.
